Upon Arrival Kilimanjaro International Airport – Moshi: 40kms/30 Minutes Drive

We will pick you up and transfer you to Weruweru River Lodge for an overnight stay on (BB) a basis.

Trek Day 1: Umbwe Gate – Umbwe Cave: 9.6km | 6-8hrs | Moorland

Trek Day 2: Umbwe Cave – Barranco Camp: 4.75km | 4-6hrs | Moorland

Elevation: 2944m/9659ft to 3986m/13,077ft
Altitude gained: 1042m

Start your day with a hearty breakfast and get ready to embark on a challenging yet exhilarating journey. We'll continue our ascent, navigating the steep and adventurous Barranco Wall, which offers impressive views of the surrounding valleys and peaks.

This is a thrilling day to witness the incredible power, agility, and strength of your crew as they zip over the wall with apparent ease. We'll then make our way to the Karanga Valley, where we'll connect with the Mweka Trail.

Along the path to Karanga Camp, you'll be greeted with fascinating landscapes, unique flora and fauna, and remarkable rock formations. Take in the breathtaking views of the valley below and marvel at the stunning mountain scenery.

Trek Day 4: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp: 3.3km | 3-4hrs | Alpine Desert

As we have breakfast, we resume our trek and climb up to Barafu Camp, marking the end of the South Circuit. From here, you'll be amazed by the stunning panoramic views of the summit, viewed from various angles. We'll have an early dinner and rest as we prepare for the summit night, the most anticipated part of the climb. We'll spend the night at Barafu Camp, ready for the next day's challenge.

Trek Day 5: Barafu Camp – Summit: 4.86km Up | 5-7hrs | – Mweka Camp: 11.5km Down | 5-6hrs | Glaciers, Snow Capped Summit

Elevation: 4662m/15,295ft to 5895m/19,341ft
Altitude gain: 1233m
Descent to 3106m/10,190ft
Altitude lost: 2789m

As the morning arrives, excitement builds for the most challenging part of the trek, starting between midnight and 2 a.m. This part requires mental and physical strength. We continue our way to the summit through the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers, keeping ourselves warm and focused on the remarkable sense of achievement that awaits us.

The ascent follows a switchback motion in a northwesterly direction, leading us to Stella Point on the crater rim, offering a breathtaking view of the sunrise during a short rest. More experienced hikers can view the sunrise from the summit. From here, we have one more hour of ascent through snow to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa!

Congratulations, with each step, you have achieved a remarkable feat of reaching the top of Mount Kilimanjaro!

After capturing photos, celebrating, and maybe shedding some tears of joy, we take a few moments to revel in this incredible accomplishment. We start our steep descent down to Mweka Camp, taking a brief lunch break at Barafu. To traverse the uncooperative loose gravel and volcano ash terrain, we highly recommend gaiters and trekking poles. Enjoy a well-deserved rest at Mweka Camp, relishing your last evening on the mountain.

Trek Day 6: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Arusha: 9.1km | 3-4hrs | Rainforest

Elevation: 3106m/10,190ft to 1633m/5358ft
Altitude lost: 1473m

Celebrate your successful climb with a heartfelt appreciation ceremony before descending to the Mweka Park Gate for your summit certificates. As you navigate the wet, muddy, and steep terrain, ensure your safety with gaiters and trekking poles.

Afterward, relax and unwind at the comfortable Gold Crest Hotel with bed and breakfast accommodations.

Day 8: Departure

You will depart according to your flight departure details after having breakfast.
